And let’s not forget Midnight Sun, where the family meetings about Bella basically go like “Look, her delicious freesia tastyblood is tempting Edward to hulk out, we should just kill her and be done with it, Rosalie can do it, she knows how to kill people without spilling blood,” which to be fair Carlisle is against because then they wouldn’t deserve to be protected or whatever, but the fact remains that most of the family found this a self-evident solution. Committed to protecting human life my ass. (Okay okay, I’ll be a little more fair—Carlisle is committed to protecting human life, at least insofar as he can as a doctor, although nothing is ever said about the Cullens, I don’t know, donating some of their massive fortune to charity or anything…and Esme probably is just because Carlisle is. The others, not so much. Especially not Edward, who really doesn’t care about the dumb boring humans until OMFG BELLA.)
